Dragon Palace - Burney: Reviews & Ratings
Food was good and service was friendly. I really liked the egg drop soup and you definitely get a great value. The portions are huge and they offer a good special that includes a lot of food. I got the Szechuan shrimp and was a little let down. I wasn’t crazy flavorful. Apart from that though the experience was good and I would go again.
Awesome Chinese food at affordable prices! Unheard of in this economy! Excellent value for your money! Best Hot and Sour soup I have ever had! That was just the appetizer! I had the shrimp and cashews special of the day with a pot of steaming hot tea. All for under $23! Shrimp was delish and the rice perfectly steamed. It also came with noodles and an egg roll! I definitely left on a full and happy stomach! My dad had bragged of eating here over 30 years ago and it is everything he said it was!
The food was great. We ordered lots of appetizers - fried prawns, crab and cream cheese wontons, egg rolls, and hot and sour soup. We tried the orange chicken, Hong Kong style pork chow mein, pork fried rice, sweet & sour pork, bbq pork egg fu young, and almond chicken. We got a free second plate of sweet & sour pork from the chef. Everything was yummy! The place was busy and short-staffed. There was only one waitress who seemed to be the hostess and cashier, too. There was a "Help Wanted" sign on the window. There was a little trash on the floor - fortune cookie wrappers, mostly. We got our appetizers before our plates and utensils, and had to ask twice for hot mustard. We never got the hot tea we ordered, but the waitress did bring our table a pitcher of ice water. We were fine. She did an awesome job, all things considered. She worked so hard to keep up. Hope they get help soon. We will be back again.
Decent quality food with very quick and friendly service. Nothing stood out as exceptional, but overall everything tasted fine. For being the only Chinese food in town, it's worth going to.
Good food and a large selection. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Large portions and reasonable prices. No frills dining but perfect really.
I came here as a kid years ago, back when they had the big fish and the large spinning table, so there’s definitely some nostalgia tied to Dragon Palace for me. The restaurant still has that same old-school Burney charm — a little rustic and worn down, but you get used to it after a while. The service was absolutely amazing. Our server was friendly, attentive, and handled everything on her own like a pro. The tea was really good, and there were plenty of drink and beer options to choose from. The food could be a bit better — my shrimp with lobster sauce mostly tasted like egg drop soup over shrimp, and the wontons were a little bland and rubbery. My friend ordered the fried chicken rice, which was about what you’d expect for a small-town restaurant like this — decent, straightforward, and filling. Still, the great service and nostalgic atmosphere make it worth visiting again. I’ll probably try the General Chicken next time and hopefully be able to update this to five stars.
